Reno

WELCOME TO RENO

Up-and-coming urban hotspot with diverse real estate options and plenty of community events

If you enjoy an active lifestyle, water sports, fine dining, and luxury shopping experiences, Reno is the place to be. With plenty of nightlife, regional events, and legal gaming, Reno residents have endless upscale entertainment options. You’ll never be bored in these up-and-coming, trendsetting neighborhoods.

Thanks to its Gold Rush history, Reno has a decidedly Western American flare. Per the Reno government website, the town originated because it was the best crossing point of the Truckee River, which flows from Lake Tahoe to Pyramid Lake. Gold miners rushed through the area in the 1840s and 50s.

Reno was officially established in 1858, and the University of Nevada was founded there in 1874. Since then, the university has been Reno’s cultural and educational backbone.

Reno's nickname is the "Biggest Little City in the World" because it’s a small city with a tremendous number of cosmopolitan amenities and luxury experiences one usually only finds in larger cities like New York City or Los Angeles.

WHAT TO LOVE

  • Easy access to Lake Tahoe and Bay Area
  • Diverse architectural styles ranging from 1840s mansions to 2020s condominiums
  • Quick drive out of town to desert adventures like rock climbing, cycling, and equestrian facilities

LOCAL LIFESTYLE

Reno is home to stunning conservation districts. These gorgeous, old-town neighborhoods boast gently curving roads, historic architecture, and luxurious period design. You can choose to live in a historic mansion in Powning District or Wells Avenue, or you can just enjoy them during your morning jog.

Other notable areas include the Midtown District, Riverwalk District, Red District, and Rancharrah.

Reno's Midtown District is home to more than 250 local businesses. Found just south of Downtown Reno, Midtown offers luxury dining, fine art galleries, and boutique shopping.

The Riverwalk District is another delightful experience. Enjoy high-end coffees, vintage wines, and art exhibits dotted throughout the area.

DINING, ENTERTAINMENT & SHOPPING

For curated dining and art experiences, enjoy RED, which is short for Reno's Experience District. It’s home to a lush two-acre public park, retail shopping, and fine dining.

Finally, there's the Village at Rancharrah, Reno's newest elite neighborhood and shopping destination. Spend an afternoon at Centro Bar & Kitchen, Perenn Bakery, The Village Well, Grafted, or Mari Chuy’s. Old World Coffee, Cheese Board, or Two Chicks.

The Summit is an upscale shopping mall experience for the most discerning customers. This open-air plaza offers stunning views of the mountains and shops like LuLuLemon, Pottery Barn, Dillards, Freckled Frog, Apple, Savvy Boutique and more.

You'll also find a movie theater and plenty of high-end restaurants at The Summit.

THINGS TO DO

No discussion of Reno would be accurate without mentioning gaming as the number one nighttime attraction. According to Luxury Hotel Guru, the most luxurious gambling experiences in town are found at Atlantis Casino Resort & Spa, WorldMark Reno, and Whitney Peak Hotel. But there are a host of outdoor experiences around Reno, too. For sun worshippers, boaters, water skiers, and wakeboarders, Lake Tahoe is just a short drive away.

Local events include the Reno Balloon Races, the Reno Rodeo, the famous Hot August Nights, Food Truck Fridays, Bartley Ranch Park and concerts, the Reno Air Races, and ArtTown.

For those who crave a more secluded and natural experience away from the boisterous crowds or noisy machines, the Sierra Nevada Mountains are all around you. Hunting, hiking, mountain biking, prospecting, and photography opportunities surround the town.
