At a young age, I knew I wanted to help people. I grew up in a small country town at the base of the Sequoia National Forest called Springville, CA where our population was less than 700 people (and still is). I loved volunteering at community events where everyone knew everyone, and took my first job at the age of 11 watching the younger children during the church service in our little town. I held onto that job all through my junior year in high school until I decided I needed to spread my wings. With the encouragement of mentors and counselors, I decided to homeschool myself and completed my Junior and Senior year studies in a matter of 3 months so I could move to Reno, NV and start my next chapter.
I was fortunate to grow up spending my summers on the shores of Lake Tahoe, and the winters on the slopes of Mt. Rose, as I visited my family who lived in Incline Village until they “declined” and moved to Reno. I quickly fell in love with the area and decided to attend UNR studying a variety of subjects until I eventually landed on Human Development and Family Studies. My degree was focused on social work and early childhood education. I enjoyed the psychology of humans - how we communicate, how we learn and how we socialize. Being introduced to Real Estate during my time studying, I realized the opportunity I had to share my knowledge in communication and education with an industry that supports the largest investment in most people's lives. I wanted to empower and educate people through the process. At that time, I took a job with a luxury development group in Truckee, CA and quickly advanced becoming the Sales & Marketing Director for the firm. Through my 5-years with the development team, I learned the true meaning of “lifestyle” and the psychology involved in people’s decision making whether it be buying or selling a second home, investment property or primary residence. Everyone experiences the “next chapter” in one way or another and being a resource to guide people through that process has been my true passion.
A few years ago, I was presented with the opportunity to take my luxury development experience and bring it to the resale market. I first joined the #1 Regional Team in the Reno|Tahoe area and was the founding agent for Compass Nevada. Recently, I’ve made a strategic move to reach a larger global network for my clients and have joined the #1 All Female Team in the Nation. I am the Founding Agent for Coldwell Banker Realty in Reno|Tahoe and have an extensive network of luxury agents and clients that is unmatched for our area. Being licensed in California and Nevada, I cover the entire region with my team as local expert advisors in Truckee, Tahoe City, Incline Village, Reno/Sparks, Minden/Gardnerville, Zephyr/S. Lake Tahoe and everywhere in between.
With big goals and aspirations to elevate the Real Estate experience in our region, I find it important to enjoy the community and speak from the heart when meeting clients. My husband and I live right behind Bartley Ranch with our two children, Elleanor (4) and Augustus (4mo). Right out our backdoor, we enjoy walking the trails around Bartley Ranch with our two dogs (Hondo and Winnie) and attending as many summer concerts as we can. My husband, Jeremy, has been a Personal Trainer at Framework Personal Training in the Shoppes at Bartley Ranch for over 15 years. Living here and being part of the Lakeridge Community and raising our children here has been a blessing. On a larger scale, we love spending “locals summer” in Tahoe paddle boarding, boating and hiking, or exploring the Sierra Valley/Graeagle mountain lakes. We also have a beautiful 15-Hand Palomino, Bruno, that my husband rides and we love being able to introduce our daughter to the equestrian world. I am very competitive hence why I’ve never taken up golf, but it’s my goal this year to learn…and try to enjoy it. Any tips, lessons or invites are welcome!
When we’re not working and can get away, we love the warmth and sunshine of Maui’s beloved beaches. My husband’s family has had a condo in Kaanapali for years and we love being able to share many fond memories with our families there. The photos you see are actually from a recent trip where Baby Gus (Augustus) enjoyed the salt water and sand for the first time!!
To be honest, growing up I didn’t realize how special it was to have such a close community of people in a small town. I’m grateful that Reno and Tahoe still encapsulates that small town feeling in most cases, and I strive to preserve and share that feeling with every client I meet. I hope that my work in the region is noticed and influences others.
Cheers!
